IBM Power i Technical Certification
This 1-day course is intended for the experienced Systems Architect/Designer responsible for architecting and designing solutions centered around POWER Systems and IBM Certification. Topics covered in this course will provide a good foundation to prepare the student for the POWER i Technical Certification. In this workshop we will look at the features and offerings in both the POWER7 space as well as the POWER6 space, I/O components, considerations for consolidation and virtualization; tools for managing the virtualized environment; as well as discussions around systems management, systems availability, and solutions upgrade.

Provide a baseline of knowledge on architecture and design considerations for POWER6/POWER7 systems for IBM i customer environments Understand the I/O components available as well as migration considerations Understand available virtualization capabilities and how to leverage them to consolidate multiple solutions on a single platform Review the tools available for systems management Understand the upgrade options Certification
